How to Write Interview Feedback
From the Interview Summary:
- After ending an interview, you'll see the Write Feedback button in the top-right of the interview summary
- Click it to open the feedback form
From Other Places:
- Candidates page — Select the candidate, find the interview, and click Open Feedback
- Hiring Feed — Find the interview and click Open Feedback
Choose Your Recommendation
Select your hiring recommendation from the options your company has configured (like "Strong Hire," "Hire," "No Hire"). This helps frame your feedback and influences how Lavalier generates suggestions.
Generate or Write Your Feedback
Option 1: Let Lavalier Generate It
Click Generate Feedback and Lavalier writes comprehensive feedback based on:
- The interview transcript
- Your notes and timestamped markers
- The interview analysis
- Your hiring recommendation
The AI creates detailed feedback that emphasizes relevant strengths or concerns based on your recommendation, saving you time while capturing important details.
Option 2: Write It Yourself
Start typing in the feedback editor. Your feedback saves automatically every few seconds as you write.
Refine Your Feedback (Optional)
Already have feedback but want to improve it?
- Click Tweak Feedback
- Give specific instructions like:
- "Add more detail about their technical skills"
- "Focus more on communication style"
- "Make it more concise"
- Lavalier refines your feedback based on your instructions while preserving important quotes and observations
If you change your recommendation, Lavalier will prompt you to update the feedback to match your new rating.
What Happens Next
Once you've written your feedback:
- Your feedback saves automatically — No need to click a save button
- Edit anytime — Return and update your feedback by clicking Open Feedback
- Team collaboration — Your feedback becomes available to other team members according to your company's permissions settings
- Informed decisions — Your team can review all feedback when evaluating candidates and making hiring decisions
