How to Allowlist Lavalier Emails

Modified on Fri, 6 Feb at 11:25 AM

If emails from Lavalier are landing in spam or junk folders, your organization's email administrator can allowlist the Lavalier domain to ensure reliable delivery. This guide covers how to allowlist @lavalier.ai in Microsoft Exchange and Google Workspace.

Prerequisites

  • Administrator access to your organization's email system:
    • Microsoft Exchange: Access to the Exchange Admin Center
    • Google Workspace: Super Admin or Groups Admin privileges in Google Admin console

Microsoft Exchange

Follow these steps to create a mail flow rule that allowlists Lavalier emails:

  1. Log in to the Microsoft Exchange Admin Center
  2. Navigate to Mail flow in the left sidebar
  3. Click Rules
  4. Click Add a rule and select Create a new rule
  5. Configure the rule with the following settings:
    • Name: "Allowlist Lavalier" (or a name of your choice)
    • Apply this rule if: The sender's domain is lavalier.ai
    • Do the following: Modify the message properties > Set the spam confidence level (SCL) to -1 (bypass spam filtering)
  6. Click Save
  7. Click Enable to activate the rule
  8. Verify the rule is turned On in the rules list (you may need to enable it twice)

Google Workspace

Follow these steps to add Lavalier as an approved sender in Google Workspace:

  1. Sign in to the Google Admin console (admin.google.com) with an administrator account
  2. Go to Menu > Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail > Spam, Phishing and Malware
  3. Scroll down to the Spam section
  4. Click Configure (or Add another rule if rules already exist)
  5. Enter a name for the setting (e.g., "Allowlist Lavalier")
  6. Under Approved senders, click Create or edit list
  7. Add a new list or edit an existing one:
    • Click Add
    • Enter lavalier.ai as the domain
    • Click Save
  8. Select your approved senders list
  9. Check Bypass spam filters for messages from senders or domains in selected lists
  10. Click Save

Changes in Google Workspace can take up to 24 hours to take effect, though they typically apply more quickly.

Verification

After configuring the allowlist, you can verify it's working by:

  1. Having a user send a test email request (e.g., resend an invitation or trigger a notification from Lavalier)
  2. Confirming the email arrives in the inbox rather than spam/junk

If emails continue going to spam after 24 hours, double-check that the rule is enabled and the domain is spelled correctly as lavalier.ai.
