Getting Started with Lavalier

Modified on Fri, 6 Feb at 11:46 AM

Welcome to Lavalier! You're just a few steps away from conducting your first AI-powered interview. This guide will walk you through everything you need to get up and running.

Step 1: Set Up Your Company OS

Your Company OS is the foundation of your hiring process—it's how your team stays aligned on your company's story, values, and interview approach. Search for your company and Lavalier will set up your Company OS for you automatically. This is also where you can configure your interview stages and hiring rubrics. Learn more about your Company OS.

Step 2: Create Your First Role

Defining your role helps Lavalier understand what you're looking for, so it can connect what candidates say to the skills and qualities that matter most. Open the Lavalier drop-down in the top left, select Roles, then click New Role. You can upload an existing job description or build one from scratch using Lavalier's AI assistant. Fill in the job essentials first, then add more detail when you're ready. Learn more about creating a role.

Step 3: Add a Candidate

Now it's time to add someone to interview. In your role, open the Actions menu and select Add Candidate. You can search for existing candidates or create a new one. Learn more about creating candidates.

Step 4: Schedule Your Interview

You're ready to interview! Open the Lavalier drop-down and select Schedule Interview. Choose your candidate, role, and interview stage. Select an interview type (Virtual, Phone, or In-Person), then set your date, time, and duration. You can schedule it for later or start immediately. Learn more about scheduling interviews.

Step 5: Conduct Your First Interview

When it's time to interview, click Start Interview. During the interview, you'll see a live transcript, AI-suggested questions in the "What's Next" panel, and tools to mark key moments with thumbs up/down. Learn more about conducting interviews.
